Tomorrow is the Orthodox Christmas!

Helloooooo lovely readers of the Goddess Blog and welcome to the weekend and this beautiful Friday!

As you all know, we Serbians are a part of the Orthodox Christian religion - which means that tomorrow is our Christmas!

I will be spending this year's Christmas in Thessaloniki as all of you guys know, so I decided to write today something about the spirit of Thessaloniki and the warmth that I have encountered among the Greek people!

There is something special in spending the winter days in a city that is by the sea.. an enigmatic sensation that is extremely positive.

And the people? My God, the people..

The mentality of the Greeks is something else. I live in Belgrade - and due to the cold and grey days that we have, people are really on the edge and you can just feel it. Nervous, anxious, stiff - not a very pleasant sight to behold.

But the Greeks on the other hand - they are so cool, calm and collected. They ooze (I almost wrote ouzo 😂😂😂) happiness and good feelings - which is easy to understand why. I mean, just look at the weather conditions today:

6th of January, the middle of the winter, the daily forecast is 14 degrees Celsius and sunny weather throughout the day.

A small and gentle breeze of a wind will grace the seaside and will absolutely refresh and reinvigorate the lucky souls that will walk up and down the Tsimiski street.

Oh, are you getting tired of the walk? Why please take refuge in one of the many coffee shops that the street has to offer - with some of the most beautiful coffee you have ever tasted (be it cold, hot or freddo coffee) and with one of the most beautiful sights to enjoy your coffee with - a view of the Aegean Sea in all of its glory.

I have travelled all around Europe, I have spent time on many seasides - but there is something truly remarkable in this place. There is something truly, truly remarkable about the spirit of Thessaloniki.

Quite possibly one of my favorite places (if not THE favorite place) to be at the moment.

If you ever make a bucket list - make visiting Thessaloniki and some of the beaches on Halkidiki pretty high on that list.

Oh, and one more ouzo Plomari on the rocks for me please, efharisto para poli!

That is itttt for this lovely Friday’s pre-Christmas blog post lovely readers!

I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you boys and girls, the Goddess is out for the week due to the big holiday - but I will be back on Monday, so be sure to drop in and check out what the Goddess will muster for you guys in order to kick-start the new week!
